About

April 9 is a day of mourning. In 1989, on this date, General Rodionov ordered the violent dispersal of demonstrators on Rustaveli Avenue.

April 9 is also Milaโ€™s birthdayโ€”and the date of her marriage to Gena.

Mila and Genaโ€™s relationship began in the late 1980s in Yerevan and collapsed along with the Soviet Union.

Having fled the Karabakh war, they settled in Tbilisi in โ€œSeasideโ€.

Their family remains trapped in the ruins of history and the bunker of independent Georgia.
